Many vacationers bring their bicycles
to Hilton Head or rent from one of the
many vendors on the island. The beach
grains of sand here are jagged, instead of
rounded, so they lock together to give
the firmness beach cyclists love. Plus,
there are miles of bike trails in Palmetto
Dunes and on the island.
Come on and take a free ride! Returning for the 2010 season, there is a FREE shuttle to Shelter Cove Marina, shops and restaurants. The shuttle will run from early March to mid October, 8am to 9pm Sunday - Wednesday, till 10pm Thursday - Saturday, and extended summer hours June - August. Guests can be picked up/dropped off at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center, Shelter Cove Mall/Marina, the Dunes Beach House, any of the P.D. golf courses, or even at the Huntington villa, on request. And yes, there's room for beach chairs, shopping bags, or golf clubs. Just call (843) or 689-4222 locally.
